Past Executive Directors
Nicholas Nguyen (2024-2025)
Nick is from Fairfax, Virginia and graduated from Virginia Tech with his Bachelor’s in Biological Systems Engineering in 2021. He made his start at Avicenna on the Lifestyle Medicine team before serving as the Executive Director. He is a fourth year medical student at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine and has interests in preventative care and public health.
Michelle Mao (2022-2024)
Michelle is a medical student at Carle Illinois College of Medicine. She graduated from UC Davis in 2018 with a BS in Biomedical Engineering and moved to CU from California. Passionate about improving health care access and holistic care, she hopes to learn more about the unique needs of the CU community. She enjoys exploring nature (hiking, camping, kayaking) and crafting in her free time.
Priya Shankarappa (2023-2024)
Priya is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated in 2018 from Northwestern University with a Bachelors degree in chemistry. She then worked in pharmacology research at the National Cancer Institute near D.C., and she volunteered with the Arlington Free Clinic during her time there. In summer 2020, she joined the Carle Illinois College of Medicine and became an intake volunteer at Avicenna.
