Former volunteers receive award from UIUC College of Medicine

From the College of Medicine blog:

"The College of Medicine at Urbana-Champaign is pleased to announce the selections of senior medical students to the Gold Humanism in Medicine Honor Society and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.

Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) recognizes junior and senior medical students for outstanding academic performance in M1, M2 curricula, and clerkships. Only the top 16% of the graduating class (including students from all four regional campuses of the University of Illinois College of Medicine) may be chosen for AOA honors.

The Gold Humanism in Medicine Honor Society selection is based on demonstration of exceptional humanism in the practice of medicine, commitment to excellent patient care, and potential for continued humanistic practice of medicine in the future. Only 15% of the senior class may be chosen for the Gold Humanism Honor Society, and honorees are selected from among the Urbana regional campus’ senior class.

The four seniors selected for Gold Humanism in Medicine Honor Society are:

  • Paven K. Aujla
  • Gabrielle Paloma Acquaro
  • Chelsea Fu
  • Miri Kim"

Paven Aujla is a former ACHC clinic manager as well as a current board member. Miri Kim is a former nutrition volunteer.
